Sauipe Swimwear Review

Sauipe Swimwear is inspired by Costa do Sauipe, one of the most beautiful and evocative tourist destinations in Brazil. Costa do Sauipe is located on the north coast of Bahia, a state rich in history, culture and hospitable people. The birth place of renowned artists such as Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil, Gal Costa, Bahia has shared with the world its legendary music, foods, colors and the best beaches one could envision.

After one memorable trip to Costa do Sauipe in 2006, they were inspired to begin their journey and to develop a line of swimwear that reflects the rich natural beauty of Bahia’s beaches and people. Their old time love for swimwear had found a muse, and their hearts were set on the name SAUIPE as a tribute to this idyllic stretch of white sandy beaches and clear turquoise water, framed by coconut trees along the coast.

Swimsuit season is coming to an abrupt end in most states in the United States, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't stop thinking about you're going to wear during the next swimsuit season.

Sauipe Swimwear recently gave me the opportunity to try out their Montego Bay 3027 One-Piece Swimsuit ($144) in Black. I originally opted for the White (was featured in Shape Magazine's June 2011 issue!) since I wanted to try something different, but I love the Black just as much since I like wearing this color. Not only most find this color to be slenderizing, but I like the sheer simplicity and sophistication that it exudes. I wasn't the least disappointed with my selection, because it has a classic Old Hollywood glamour feel to it. Think of Elizabeth Taylor, Grace Kelly, and Marilyn Monroe. These leading ladies shamelessly flaunted their va-va-voom curves on the beach, which were accentuated by bathing suits with flattering ruching and ample seat coverage. However, you don't have to be curvy to wear these type of swimsuits. They even give boyish figures more of an hourglass shape.

I also adore the Montego Bay 3053 and 3054 and Montego Bay 3016 and 3015 styles.
